Be A Contributor
We are currently looking for these types of contributors:
News Anchor:
You must be aware of national current events and be able to sift through and find interesting stories that aren’t necessarily already popular. We don’t want anything sad or too political.
Other:
If you have a weird view on something or are active in any sort of community or culture that we think might make a great regular feature PITCH TO US. We’ll consider anything that isn’t religious, uplifting or political.

General Contributor Requirements:
You must have a sense of humor.
You must be reliable.
You must know how to form a sentence. You don’t have to have a Master’s in English. We have editors, but you do have to be able to piece together an article.

If you want to be a contributor:
Send lizkzook@furiesmag.com your name, e-mail, any links to writing you have done before, why you want to write for us, and which articles you’d be interested in writing.
Put “I want to Contribute” in the subject line, so I know you aren’t spam.
…
I don’t want to be a dick, but if you aren’t going to read this and follow the directions then you will not be considered as a contributor or as someone to feature. It’s not fair to the people that took the time to do it the way we asked.

(No one is getting paid right now – least of all the editor. However, if you get in now you’ll be getting in on the ground floor and you’ll be in the best spot to get paid for it later. I can’t say how long that will take, because I honestly don’t know. If we decide to have advertisers, that money is going to go towards getting the first issue of Furies Magazine printed. For the time being you will be able to say that you are a published author.)

A few things to note: We’re a little different than a lot of magazines. We do not print thought-provoking, uplifting or serious stories. Our magazine is supposed to be about two things: introducing people to new artists, entertaining people. I started this magazine(it’s really in blog format) in June this year. I’m not getting paid and all of our promoting and web stuff is out of pocket. I expect a lot for pretty much nothing. I don’t know if I’ll ever get paid or if I’ll ever be able to pay anyone else. I expect people to be passionate about Furies, because it’s going to be huge – I can feel it. We don’t have a photographer on staff. So if you need pictures to go with stories you’ll have to take them yourself. Our readership is a very involved, very friendly community. I expect everyone involved in Furies to be open and interactive with our readership.
